Carolyn Vaughan

: Carolyn was born on October 29, 1937 in Tingle, NM to Luther and Vela Cone. She grew up in Lubbock, TX where she graduated from Lubbock High School in 1954. She married Denzil Vaughan in 1963. Carolyn and Denzil moved to Hereford, where they owned Vaughan Real Estate. They moved to Amarillo in 1973, where they continued to run their family business. Although Denzil preceded her in death in 1983, she continued her passion for real estate in Amarillo for another 20 years. Once retired, she devoted the remainder of her life to being "Grams" to her family. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and was an avid reader. She is survived by her son, Derek Vaughan and wife Jackie of Amarillo; daughter, Nichelle Dendy of Amarillo; brother, L.J. Cone of Artesia, NM; 2 sisters, Modean McMillan of Oklahoma and Nola Mae Green of Austin; 10 grandchildren, Kristen, Ashley, Brittney, Autumn, Mackenzie, Jade, Preston, Danielle, Dustin and Destiny and 20 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bobby Cone; sister, Norma Sue and her husband Denzil Vaughan.
