Carolyne (Holman) Poage

Carolyne Poage departed to her heavenly home April 22, 2024. Celebration of life services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday April 27, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor Robby Barrett officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

She was born, Mary Carolyne Holman, May 20, 1938 in Arkansas to Carroll Yancey Holman and Vera Evelyn Cummings. She graduated from Panhandle High School in 1957. November 16, 1957, she married the love of her life, Thomas Wesley Poage.

Carolyne attended cosmetology school and worked as a cosmetologist for a several years before her daughter, Shannon, was born, including Las Vegas, Nevada, where she fixed the hair of the wife of one of the Smothers brothers.

Carolyne was an active member of Torchbearer Alpha Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority since 1973.

Carolyne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson, Dylan Wesley Taylor; a sister, Pattye Sue Messer; a brother, Terrell Yancey Holman; a niece, Stacy Ann Lerch; and a nephew, William Forrest Messer.

She is survived by her daughter Shannon Ford and husband Jason; nephews, Jeff Phillips and spouse Cheryl; Mark Phillips and spouse Diana; several great nephews, their spouses and many great-great nephews and nieces and one great-great-great niece. She is also survived by “special daughter”, Misty Hickman.
