Charles F. "Butch" Palmer

February 23, 1944 — August 18, 2015

Butch was born on February 23, 1944 in Pampa to Horace and Alvilda Palmer. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He married Gloria Amato on January 6, 1973 in Amarillo. Butch worked as a barber in Amarillo for thirteen years before going to work for IFCO Pallet Co. where he worked for thirty years until his retirement two years ago. He was a charter member of the Coors Cowboy Club and was a mason. He was an active member of the Khiva Shrine where he served as Potentate in 2001. He was a devoted husband and dad. He was a quiet man who had a great heart for giving. His love for the kids in the Shriner's hospitals will be deeply missed. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his wife, Gloria of Amarillo, two daughters, Courtney Palmer of Amarillo and Corrie Harris and husband Jeff of Red Oak. Three sons, Todd Palmer and wife Debbie of Forney, Trent Palmer and wife Diane of Midlothian and Ryan Palmer and wife Jennifer of Colleyville. Two brothers, Johnny Palmer of Lubbock and Danny Palmer and wife Sandy of Lake Texhoma. One sister, Barbara Jean Kuehne of Port Lavaca. Butch is also survived by his 15 grandchildren who loved him very much, Jordan, Nick, Bryce, Olivia, Taylan, Gentri, Mason, Maddy, Kierston, Karisa, Sydney, Kyndal, Demi, Colton and Reece and a host of nieces and nephews.
