Charles "Fred" Fredrick Wilson

Charles Fredrick "Fred" Wilson, 91, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, October 26,2017. Fred was born on May 9, 1926 in Amarillo to Frank and Beulah Wilson. He graduated from Amarillo High School. Fred served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. Fred married Doris Fern Stroope on March 10, 1948. Together they raised 3 children. She passed away on July 1, 1981. On January 1, 1991 he married Dorothy Sims and have been happily married for 26 years. Fred was known to be a great cook. He owned several restaurants in his early career. He then went to work for Pantex where he later retired. Fred and Dorothy attended Comanche Trail Church of Christ for many years. Fred is survived by his wife Dorothy Wilson; two sons, Fred Wilson Jr. and wife Gail of Lubbock, Texas and Tom Wilson and wife Diane of Amarillo; one daughter, Janice Cathey and husband Gene of Amarillo; step daughter, Susan Moudy and husband Mark of Happy, Texas; Four step sons, Mike Sims and wife Dalene of Happy, Texas, Pat Sims and wife Suzanne of Dumas, Texas, Doug Sims and wife Donna of Amarillo and Scott Sims and wife Tina of Bushland, Texas; sister, Becky Stevens and husband Bill of Amarillo; 24 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
