Charles Pillsbury

August 3, 1925 — April 15, 2017

Charles was born on August 3, 1925 in Dallas to Charles Sr. and Theodia Pillsbury. He was raised in Dallas, graduating from North Dallas High School in 1942. He furthered his education at SMU, achieving a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Charles enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, serving as a medical Core man on the South Pacific Tour, during WWII as well as the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in March of 1952. Charles married Elaine Hohenfeldt on December 26, 1951. Together, they moved to San Diego, where they were employed at the San Diego Naval Hospital for over 14 years. They lived in many places, including: Midland, Sliddell, Bakersfield, Houston, where they retired, El Paso for over 19 years and eventually settled in Amarillo in 2009. Charles worked in the Petroleum field collecting well data for many years. He enjoyed reading, playing tennis and square dancing as he was able. He selflessly volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years. SURVIVING FAMILY: wife, Elaine Pillsbury of Amarillo; 2 sons, Tim Pillsbury and wife Emily of Amarillo and Dan Pillsbury and wife Scottie of Lake Charles, LA; 4 grandchildren, Chris Pillsbury and wife Amber of Clifton, Nathan Pillsbury and wife Sarah of Amarillo, Vanessa Brooks and husband David and Brandon Pillsbury, all of Lake Charles, LA and 4 great grandchildren, David, Tyler, Alex and Joshua. PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: parents
