Cheryl Nickerson

Cheryl Nickerson, 61, of Amarillo, died Monday, March 26, 2018. Memorial services will be 10:00 am Friday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. Cheryl was born July 8, 1956 in Hardtner, Kansas to Leonard and Juanita Corn. She graduated from Waynoka High School in Waynoka, Okla. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and napping. She was a die-hard OU fan, and NY Giants fan. Cheryl loved spending time with family and friends, especially on the Fourth of July, which was her favorite holiday. She was a very unique individual. She was very honest, and many of her friends would say she was the most real person they had ever known. She was a wonderful mother, sister, and grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and a brother-in-law, Mike Slatton. Survivors include two daughters, Angie Kysa, Cindy Cano and husband Christopher; a son, Brian Kysar and wife Autumn; a sister, Barbara Slatton; five grandchildren, Garrett Kysar, Jonathan Rodriguez, Aniya Rodriguez, Myah Cano, and Maddox Cano; and her beloved dog, Gypsy. The family suggests memorials be made to Olivia's Angels, PO Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79105.
