Cheryl Reynolds, 76, of Amarillo, passed away on June 30, 2025. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Grace Church, 4111 Plains Blvd., with Pastor Scott Davey officiating.
Cheryl was born May 16, 1949, in McLean, Texas, to Billie and Vaughn Smith. She attended McLean High School before moving with her family to Amarillo, where she attended Tascosa High School. She married Ken Reynolds on September 17, 1969, and together they raised three sons, Shane, Kevin, and Greg.
She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone with over 25 years of service. Cheryl loved spending time at the lake, was an avid reader, and enjoyed motorcycle trips with Ken riding through Colorado, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. She also never missed a chance to watch Kevin and Greg race stock cars and support Shane with his music. Her most favorite moments were spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Jim Brookes.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Ken Reynolds of the home; three sons, Micheal Shane Reynolds (Bobbi Jean Snider) of Garland, Kevin Ray Reynolds (Casey) of Amarillo, and Gregory Lynn Reynolds (Patti) of Bushland; brother, Ricky Dean Smith (Sue); and her sister and best friend, Marsha Joyse Brookes, both of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Makennah Zayne Reynolds, Logan Vaughn Reynolds (Sydney), and Sadi Lynn Sluski (Cody); six great-grandchildren, Zane, Myrtle, Bristol, Annali, Christopher, and Sebastian; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
The family would like to thank the BSA Hospital CCU team for the kind and respectful care they gave to Cheryl. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to your favorite charity in Cheryl’s memory.
