Chris Evans, 51, of Amarillo, passed away on February 13, 2025. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Tuesday February 18, 2025 at the funeral home.
Chris was born May 19, 1973 in Perryton, Texas to James and Gloretta Evans. He attended Perryton High School. He moved to Amarillo in 1991, and married his wife Demetria in 2011. Chris made his career in the tow trucking business, having worked for various companies over a 30 year span.
In his spare time, Chris was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the University of Alabama. He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to the local dirt track with Demetria. He was a jokester through and through. He adored his grandkids and loved spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Evans; and a nephew, Merrick Sherel.
Survivors include his wife, Demetria Evans of the home; his two sons, Clarence Evans of Midland, TX, and Taylor Evans (Taryn) of Amarillo; his two daughters, Tosha Evans (Travis Harris) of Amarillo, Brittany Evans of Woodward, OK; his two step-daughters, Cheyanne Franklin (Dalton) of Amarillo, Jalynn Vinson (Rocky Jones) of Amarillo; his three sisters, Betty Sue Evans of Joplin, MO, Tammy Christian (Billy) of Amarillo, Melissa Evans (Brandon Lemons) of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren, Blake, Braxton, Sawyer, Bexley, Alexander, Rayney, Persia, Waverly, Garrett, Rhyett, Logun Jr. and Raylee; and one on the way. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association; or to the National Kidney Foundation.
