Christine “Chris” DuVall, 88, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday February 27, 2025. Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Monday March 10, 2025, at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 14200 I-27, in Amarillo, with Pastor Lance Harrington officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Aleta Christine Hunt DuVall was born on December 7, 1936, to Dewey and Louise Hunt in Saltillo, Texas. She graduated from McLean High School. Chris did well in academics, athletics, and received many honors. She graduated from West Texas State College. While attending W.T., she met her love, David H. DuVall. They were married on November 23, 1955, at the J.A. Chapel on the W.T. campus. They were married for 66 adventurous years before his death. Chris was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, played the piano for Sunday school classes, and worked in the church office after her retirement. Chris retired as the office manager of Cardiovascular Associates. After retirement, she continued to play bridge, work in her garden, and travel. Chris loved to decorate her home and hosted many parties and family gatherings. She and Dave loved to travel, and they had many adventures with their family and friends. Chris had a quick wit and an infectious smile.
She was proud to be the mother of Kristy and Dawn. She was an even prouder Mimi of her grandchildren & her great-grandchildren. She loved to attend their activities.
Left to treasure their Mom & Mimi are daughters Kristy & Dawn (Danny), sister Gloria, grandchildren Brandt (Layton), Chelsea (Heath), Logan, Danielle (Connelly), great-grandchildren, Brynn, Brecken, William, Claire, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and one niece.
The family wants to thank the BSA Hospice team Carla, Jennifer, and Bridget.
The family wants to extend special gratitude to Angel Badillo for the extraordinary care, friendship, comfort, and love she has given to our Mom, Mimi, and family. She has become a part of our family. We will forever be grateful to Angel.
