Christopher Dean Neal

Christopher Dean Neal, 60, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Chris was born August 4, 1960 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Carl and Vera Neal. He grew up in Hereford. Chris proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Lori Crowley on June 27, 2001. Chris worked as a tow truck driver in El Paso until he medically retired in 2008. He and Lori moved to Amarillo in 2012. After his retirement, Chris was a small engine mechanic. He enjoyed building models in his spare time. His four-legged kids miss their daddy terribly. His cat, Pretty Girl, who was his shadow. She followed him everywhere in our trailer and ate with him!  Rico is a rescue dog who was adopted and Jiggy was his emotional support dog.  She knew when he was sad and tried to make him feel better. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-father, whom he was very close to, Alfred Leon “Cotton” Haney. Survivors include his wife, Lori Neal; a son, Christopher Leon Neal; a daughter, Jennifer Haney; and two step-grandchildren, Danny Pavolik and Evan Bustamante. The family suggests memorials may be made to VA Mental Health.
