Cindy was born August 20, 1948 in Newton, KS to Billy and Charolett Hanke. She graduated from Newton High School in 1966. She married Ray Ellis on December 22, 1975 in Liberal, KS. She worked as a stenographer for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in 1990. Cindy loved the Lord with all her heart. She copastored with her husband at the Church of Restoration for many years. She adored her grandchildren. The family requests that everyone wear bright colors to Cindy's service.
Survivors include a son, Todd Ellis of Amarillo; a daughter, Kris Brecheisen and husband Tim of Amarillo; two sisters, Donna Hilton and husband Gary of Amarillo, and Tonya Billiter and husband Teri of New York; two brothers, John Hanke and wife Belinda, and Mark Hanke and wife Dena all of Amarillo; her father, Bill Hanke of Amarillo; a step-son, Norman Ellis of Newton, KS; three step-daughters, Mechelle Utz, Shannon Ballard and husband Larry all of Wichita, KS, and Liz Short and husband Kelly of Newton, KS; five grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jasper Ray Ellis; her mother, Charolett Branum Hanke; two sons, Jack Ellis and Mark Ellis; a granddaughter, Lynnzie Carrieway.
