Clara Mccauley

Clara McCauley, 86, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, January 6, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Clara was born July 24, 1938 in Paris, Texas to Wheeler and Laura Canida. She grew up in Lakeview and graduated from high school there. She worked in retail for her career. Many of those years were with Montgomery Ward, where she retired from. Clara was a single mom, raising three kids and was an extremely hard worker. In her spare time, she enjoyed music and going dancing. She adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sandra Vernon; three brothers, James Canida, W.C. Canida, and Charles Canida; and two sisters, Joyce Collins, and Imogene Merrill.

Survivors include two sons, Terry Fowler of Memphis, TX, and Bobby McCauley and wife Renee of Amarillo; a brother, Ronald Canida and wife Cindy of Dallas; a sister, Naydean Wheeler of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
