Clark Michael “Mike” Good, 76, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Polk Street Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk Street, with Pastor Lesly Broadbent officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Mike was born on July 16, 1948, in San Diego, California. He married the love of his life, Cari, on December 29, 2017. Together they celebrated over 7 years of marriage, serving in ministry together and traveling the world. Mike was in the car business for over 30 years, spending the better part of his career with the Street Toyota family in Amarillo as general manager. Mike was known for having a servant’s heart and generous spirit; he was always willing to devote his time and energy investing in others and those who just needed him. He was deeply involved in many civic organizations, including but not limited to the United Way of Amarillo and Canyon where he served as President, the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, the Maverick Boys and Girls Club, and most notably, the Guyon Saunders Resource Center because that’s where he met Cari. He was a long-time Rotarian, serving as President and honored as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Mike was a faithful Kairos volunteer for many years and worked many Kairos weekends at several different units in Texas. He was especially devoted to the Kairos Prison Ministry, Clement's team. He loved “the men in white!” While Kairos provides spiritual support to those imprisoned, the need for further intervention for men upon release became important to Mike. He served with the Legion Project and mentored ex-offenders upon their release providing guidance as well as spiritual and financial support. He lived his favorite scripture, Matthew 25:40: “Truly I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these, my brothers, you did it to me.”
Mike loved to sail on Mission Bay in San Diego, CA, and was an avid golfer. He was a loyal fan of the Los Angeles Chargers, formerly known as the San Diego Chargers, and wasn’t very happy about the name change. He often said his two favorite football teams were the Chargers and whoever was playing against the Dallas Cowboys! He bragged that he was a fan since the Chargers were founded in 1959, and he was just as loyal to the San Diego Padres.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Jeanie Good; one sister, Carol Stillwell; and one stepson, James Luster.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Cari Good, of the home; one son, Clark Matthew “Matt” Good and his wife, Nicole, of Amarillo; one stepdaughter, Kyla Wiggains and her husband, Keith, of Amarillo; three stepsons from a previous marriage, Joshua Luster; Charles Verner and wife, Wendi; and Josiah Luster and wife, Brooke; and two grandchildren whom he adored, Clark Maximus Good and Nico Myles Good. Survivors also include his longtime friend, Rob Rodriguez, and his children, Robyn and Rachel, who called Mike their Papa. And one final survivor, his beloved dog Emma, who he most often referred to as Daddy’s Puppy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Kairos Ministry, Clements Team, 209 SW 15th, Amarillo, TX 79101.
