Clinton L. Massie

December 3, 1919 — December 24, 2014

Clinton was born on December 3, 1919 in Eldorado, OK to Otto and Leora Massie. He moved to Hereford as a child, where he was raised and graduated high school. He married Betty Lee Davis on August 10, 1946 in Kansas City, KS. She preceded him in death on April 5, 2014. Clinton enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served in WWII. After his discharge, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. Clinton worked as a farmer upon his return from military duty for a year before his employment at Pioneer Natural Gas, where he worked for over 30 years, retiring in 1985. After retirement, Clinton and Betty traveled, making arts and crafts and working as vendors at craft shows. He has been a devoted member of First Baptist Church for over 45 years where he served in many ways, including as hosts for the Glorietta Retreat at First Baptist Church for many years. He is survived by his 2 sons, James Massie of Amarillo and Danny Massie and wife Janna of Canyon; brother, Bill Massie and wife Viola of Gonzales; sister-in-law, Ella Mae Harlin of Sacramento, CA; 6 grandchildren, Jessica, Dustin and Joshua Massie, Carlee Howard and husband Dustin and Bradlee and Kellee Massie and wife Kaylie and 4 great grandchildren, Kaydence, Harlie, Colt and Gatlyn. He was preceded in death by his Parents; wife, Betty Massie and sister, Loraine Grenard.
