Clinton Solbrig

Mr. Solbrig was born on January 21, 1927 in Fredericksburg to Kurt and Ferna Wahrmund Solbrig. He was raised in Fredericksburg and attended high school there. He served his county in the United States Army where he was stationed in Japan. He was very proud of his service to his country and had the opportunity to go on an "Honor Flight". He married Ada Mears on May 31, 1952 in Texico, New Mexico. She preceded him in death in 2008. They lived in Amarillo for many years. Pete worked as a welder and pipe fitter his entire career. He worked for Quality Mechanical for many years. Pete was a man who loved his Lord and his family with all of his heart. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church for over fifty years where proudly served as an elder. He was a loving husband and father. Most of all, he loved being "Opie" to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Through the years, he was active as a leader in Scouts and loved working in his yard. Pete will be remembered for his kindness and warm heart. He is survived by two daughters, Shari Higgs and husband Ray of Canyon and Tyra Nunn and husband Rick of Nashville, Tenn.. One son, Bart Solbrig and wife Heidi of Huntsville, Alabama, one sister, Ruby Klein and husband Boyce of San Antonio and his brothers and sisters in law, Zada Sharp, Arlene Solbrig, Cliftine Solbrig, Boyce Klein, Zona Mears and T.J. Mears. Six grandchildren, Mandy, Chester, Shannon, Brittney, Ashley and Sami. 10 great grandchildren, Majestia, Saxon, Jazlynn, Baiyleigh, Jamison, Maddie, Teagan, Everley and Lily.
