Clois was born March 8, 1936 in rural Dallam County, Texas to W.A. and Elsie Robinson. He graduated from Texline High School, where he was active in football, track, 4H livestock. He then attended West Texas State College. During his college years, he was a bareback rider in the rodeo circuit. He married Anne Vandiver at Clayton, NM on October 14, 1956. Clois proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-1959. He was a communications technician in military intelligence, and was stationed in Guam. He worked in sales for many years for several companies, including Sears. He was an insurance agent for Allstate insurance, and also had an agency in Pampa for about five years. He retired from Allstate in 1996. Clois loved fishing, especially with his longtime friend, Clyde Turner. He also enjoyed boating and hunting, and he loved watching football. He had a private pilot's license and enjoyed flying small aircrafts. Playing cards with his dear friends in Howardwick was one of his favorite pass times. He was a member of Howardwick Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Laura Belle Boatwright.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Robinson of Amarillo; a son, Brad Robinson and wife Amy of Dallas; a daughter, Jeri Robinson of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Braswell of Seattle, WA; his twin brother, Curtis Robinson and wife, Shirley of Pheonix, AZ; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Boatwright of Canyon; 7 grandchildren, Christina Loomis and husband Travis, Nichole Calcote and husband Curtis Battle, Brandon Calcote, Jeremy Calcote, Eleanor Robinson, Taylor Robinson, Julia Robinson; and 4 great-grandchildren.
