Cody Owens

Cody was born on January 8, 1964 in Amarillo to Merle and Betty Owens. He was raised in Amarillo before moving to Harrah, Oklahoma with his family in 1978. He graduated from high school in Harrah in 1982. Cody married Cindy Moore on September 17, 1988 in Amarillo. They moved to Claude in 1994 and made it their home. He went to work for the Burlington Northern / Santa Fe Railroad in 1994 as well. Cody was a family man who loved his family and his Lord. He was a loving husband, dad, son and brother to his family. He enjoyed being a part of whatever activities his kids were involved with. He was a cowboy. He had a great lifelong love for horses and the cowboy way of life. He also loved to hunt, fish, snow ski, water ski and whatever else he could do with his family. He will be missed for his big heart and his laugh. Cody was a member of the First Baptist Church of Claude. He was preceded in death by his dad Merle Owens in 2013. He is survived by his wife Cindy of Claude, one daughter, Riley Owens and two sons, Ty Owens and Zackry Owens all of Claude, his mother, Betty Owens of Goodnight, two sisters, Connie Spiller and husband Glen and Cheryl Hand and husband Danny all of Claude. He is also survived by his grandmother, Mildred Clendennen of Goodnight. The family would like to request memorials to the Alzheimers's Association in honor of Cody's dad Merle. 5411 S.
