Coleman W. Brown

January 10, 1921 — May 25, 2015

Mr. Brown was born on January 10, 1921 in White Deer, TX to Walter Roy and Brantley Brown. He graduated from High School in Higgins, before enlisting in the United States Navy. Mr. Brown proudly served for over 11 years, in WWII and the Korean Conflict. He married Evelyn Taylor on March 20, 1948 in Clovis, NM. Coleman worked for Phillips Petroleum as a mechanic supervisor beginning in 1947 and retiring in 1983. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening in his yard. Most of all, he will be remembered for his integrity and loyalty to his family. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Brown of Amarillo; son, Ray Brown and wife Jessie of Amarillo; 2 grandchildren, Kim McCarver and husband Kevin of Odessa and Jennifer Cooper of Amarillo; 4 great grandchildren, Chad Wade, Chess Wade, Shelbi Cooper and Kristen Cooper, all of Amarillo; nephew, Wayne R. Brown of Owasso, OK and 2 cousins, Roberta Alexander of Amarillo and Vada O'Dell of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, W.R. Brown and sister, Marsena Kessel.
