Craig Kenneth Woods, 84, of Amarillo, Texas, passed away May 5th, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, May 11th, 2026, at Saint Paul Methodist Church, 4317 I-40, Amarillo, Texas 79106, with Pastor Bill Ivins officiating.

A visitation will be held Sunday, May 10th, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive, Amarillo, Texas 79109.

Craig was born in Plainview, Texas, to Eileen and Kenneth Woods. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1960 and went on to attend Texas Tech University and West Texas A&M University. On July 16, 1971, he married Anita Anderson. Together they had three children, Matthew, Amy and Ryan.

Craig proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he built a respected 36-year career as an electrical engineer at Pantex. He and Anita were longtime members of Saint Paul Methodist Church.

Craig was also an active and dedicated member of the Lone Star Runners Club, a community he truly cherished. He began running at the age of 45 and went on to complete 54 marathons, along with numerous other races.

In retirement, Craig found great enjoyment in reading as well as traveling, he and his wife explored destinations across the United States and overseas. Along the way, they formed many meaningful friendships, with several becoming lifelong friends and pen pals.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eileen and Kenneth Woods, his brother, Keith Woods and his son, Ryan Woods.

Craig is survived by his wife, Anita Woods of the home; son, Matthew Woods; daughter, Amy Monroe and husband James of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Anna Monroe, Emily Monroe, and Noah Monroe, all of Amarillo. He also leaves behind his beloved cats, Boo Bear and Bella, who will miss him dearly.

The family suggests memorials be made to Pampa Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.), 811 S. Hobart St., Pampa, TX 79065, or to Dalhart Animal Wellness Group and Sanctuary (D.A.W.G.S n' Texas) P.O. Box 911 Dalhart, TX 79022.
