Crista Evans Archer, 74, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 AM Friday, October 31, 2025, at Central Church of Christ Chapel, 1401 S. Madison St., with Richard Kasko officiating.
Crista was born October 28, 1950 in Friona, Texas to Harris and Myrtice Evans. She graduated from Friona High School, before going on to West Texas State University. There she earned a bachelor degree in Education and a master’s degree in Counseling. Crista made her career in school counseling, having worked at several schools, including Borger, Skellytown, White Deer and Amarillo, retiring from Austin Middle School.
Crista married her husband, Richard “Dick” Archer on June 27, 1970 in Canyon at the Hill Chapel on the WT Campus. Together they enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised three children, Arian, Matt and Cody. In her spare time, Crista was an excellent seamstress and incredibly talented quilter, and made numerous beautiful pieces over the years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She adored her grandchildren and made each of them a treasured quilt. Crista loved the Lord with all her heart. She and Dick were longtime members of Central Church of Christ, where Crista stayed very busy. She was a very sweet and loving person with a generous heart. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, church and community.
Crista was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, W.H. Evans and Larry Evans.
Survivors include her husband, Dick Archer; a daughter, Arian Archer Orlando and husband Steve of Frisco, TX; two sons, Matt Archer and wife Amy of Tulsa, OK, and Cody Archer and wife Jaymie of Magnolia, TX; a brother, Brian Evans and wife Linda of Friona; eight grandchildren, Hayley Orlando, Jordan Orlando Tripp Schiermeyer, Sadie Schiermeyer, Courtlyn Dawson, Emery Archer, Evan Archer and Hayden Archer; and two precious great-grandchildren, Breilyn and Falyn.
