Curtis Don Young

Curtis was born December 13, 1944 to Curtis and Faye Young in Madill, Oklahoma. He grew up in Borger and graduated from Borger High School. Curtis was proud to serve in the U.S. Army. On October 14, 1967, he married Phyllis Fleming, and they moved to Amarillo. Curtis worked in construction for many years. He worked for Northwest Texas Hospital in the engineering dept, and also for Amarillo Independent School District in the maintenance dept. He was a carpenter and a jack of all trades. He loved dirt track racing. He began racing in the early 1960's. It was a hobby he enjoyed with his sons. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, C.H. Young. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Steve Young and wife Amy, and Jeff Young and wife Christie all of Amarillo; two sisters, Loraine Clayborn of Longview, and Linda Allen of Yuma, AZ; one brother, Edward Young of Borger; four grandchildren, Cody, Emery, Michael, and Cooper all of Amarillo.
