Daeton Kas Wheeler

July 26, 2010 — May 16, 2026

Amarillo

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daeton “Dae Dae” Kas Wheeler, who left this world far too soon on May 16, 2026, at the age of 15. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday May 23, 2026 at HIS Church, 6300 Arden Road with Jerad Middaugh officiating.

Daeton was born on July 26, 2010, in Amarillo to Jeremy and Tara Wheeler.

Dae dae was full of life, personality, and heart. He loved being outdoors, cooking, listening to music, and spending time with his friends. From the time he was little, Daeton showed how smart and determined he was. He started talking at a very young age and picked up on things quickly. He rode a bike without training wheels at just 3 years old and got his first dirt bike at only 20 months old, beginning a lifelong love for dirt bikes, the outdoors, and adventure.

Daeton was a talented self-taught barber with an eye for detail and style. Style was everything to him and one of the many ways he expressed himself. He took pride in his appearance and always made sure he looked good. Whether it was ironing his clothes — a skill his dad taught him — or cleaning his shoes, he paid attention to the little things. He had beautiful eyes, a bright spirit, and a presence people naturally gravitated toward.

More than anything, Daeton loved his family deeply. In his words, he always had his momma’s back no matter what. His sister, was his best friend, and he admired and looked up to his brother and his strength. He had a huge heart for others, a smile and beautiful eyes that people won’t forget, and a way of making those around him feel loved.

Daeton is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Tara Wheeler; his siblings, Dalani Green and Preston Wheeler; his grandmother Linda Green (“Gramms”) and grandfather Rudy Green (“Pop”); his grandfather Brad Johnson (“Pappy) and wife Debbie Johnson; his great-grandmothers Willa Dean Wheeler and Irene Scott; and a host of family and friends who loved him dearly.

He was preceded in death by Deanie Erlene Wheeler (“Nana”), Delbert Wheeler, and Hollie Jean Green (“Mamaw”).

Daeton’s story is a reminder of how important mental health awareness truly is. Please take time to check in on your family, friends, and loved ones. One conversation, one moment of kindness, or one reminder that someone matters can mean more than you know. Tomorrow is never promised, and no one truly knows the battles someone may be silently facing. In honor of Daeton, love deeply, speak kindly, and never hesitate to reach out.

Though his time here was far too short, Daeton’s love, personality, and memories will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Forever 15. Forever loved. Forever our Daeton.
