Dallas Leroy Howerton, 73, of Amarillo, died Friday, May 15, 2020. Viewing will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Dallas was born January 15, 1947 in Fairview, Oklahoma to Dallas and Mildred Howerton. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a paramedic during the Vietnam War. He married Annie Whitehead on July 24, 1993. He drove a school bus for AISD, Durham, and Apple for 23 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, and riding his trike motorcycle. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father; and a step-son, Jerry Wayne Isbell. Survivors include his wife, Annie Whitehead-Howerton; a son, Clayton Howerton of Amarillo; a step-daughter, Debbie Moore and husband Stan of Amarillo; his mother, Mildred Howerton; two brothers, Pat Howerton and Mike Howerton both of Oklahoma; and three grandchildren, Mason, Megan, and Miranda.
