Dan Boy Cornish, 78, of Amarillo, died Monday, February 19, 2018. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Senior Citizen Hall, 311 Garfield St. in Canton, Okla. Dan was born December 28, 1939 in Avard, Okla. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Ruby and Homer Harris. He graduated from Waynoka High School. After high school, Dan went to work for Santa Fe Railroad for a short time. He proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard. He then went back to Santa Fe Railroad in 1959. He retired in 2001 as a conductor for BNSF Railroad. He married Pat Williams in 1999. In his spare time, Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved going to casinos. Most of all, Dan enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Ruby Harris. Survivors include his wife, Pat Cornish; two sons, Chris Cornish and wife Lisa, and Richard Cornish and wife Tawnya all of Strang, Okla.; three step-daughters, Lynette Perry of Amarillo, Teresa Jenkins of Jacksonville, and Stacy Quintanilla and husband Gilbert of Amarillo; two brothers, Dean Cornish of Brownsville, and Dick Harris and wife Mollie of Enid, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
