Dan Ratliff

Dan was born September 4, 1948 in Amarillo to Minnie and J.T. Ratliff. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1967 then attended GM Trade School in Oklahoma City. He married Patsy Allen in Amarillo in 1968. They were members of Second Baptist Church. Dan was, to say the least, a car enthusiast. He was the owner of Amarillo Slot Car Raceway, as well as, being a member of several car clubs and organizations. Some of those clubs were, NSRA, Good Guys, Lone Star, Panhandle Council of Car Clubs, High Plains Drifters and Tri State Karting. His favorite pastime was tinkering with "Nellie Belle". He is preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and J.T., a brother, Jimmy Ratliff, and two sisters, Mary Wilcox and Joann Luman. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patsy; 2 sons, Lynn Ratliff and wife Edwina (Wieser), Shawn Ratliff and wife Zenda; 3 grandchildren, Michelle Ward, Roque Thompson and Tyler Ratliff; 3 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sharon Ratliff; and by 2 brothers-in-law, Don Wilcox and Allen Conklin; also surviving him are several nieces and nephews.
