Daniel E. Franks

Daniel was born on December 6, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH to Raymond Edwin and Elsa Rasp-Franks. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950, where he served 22 years until his retirement in 1972. In the Air Force, Dan brought home our wounded warriors and those who paid the ultimate price. He then moved to California, where he worked as a real estate broker. Upon retirement, Daniel became a traveling enthusiast and adventurer, traveling throughout the world. He enjoyed learning of other cultures, the outdoors, R.V. traveling, 4-wheeling and hiking. Once he settled in Texas from California, his friends and family were able to convert him to be a true Texan and a Dallas Cowboy fan. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Rousser-Franks of Amarillo; his children, Daphne Adkins of Amarillo, Jan Browne of Hanson, MA, Bill Franks of Marina, CA, Terri Hall- Haswell of Burbank, WA, Julia Kolsti of Las Vegas, NV; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Edwin Franks
