Daniel "Nano" Luera

Daniel "Nano" Luera, 19, died Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in New Life International Church with Pastor Spike Maldonado officiating and Manny DeLosantos assisting. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. Daniel was born Feb. 11, 1995, in Amarillo to Manuel and Cindy Luera. He was raised in Amarillo, where he graduated from Caprock High School in 2013. He was passionate about becoming a barber and had plans to attend barber school in Colorado Springs. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, Daniel loved being around his friends and family. He had a huge heart and would give anything to help someone in need. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Andres Luera; his tio, Chuy Alonzo; and his tia, Lucia Alonzo. Survivors include his parents, Manuel and Cindy; a daughter, Layla Ja Luera; a brother, Marcos Luera; a sister, Marisa Luera; his grandmother, Emma Luera; his grandparents, Mary and Joel Maldonado; a niece, Ameeya Ceballos; and many close cousins, aunts and uncles who loved him dearly. The family suggests memorials be to Daniel Luera memorial fund at Amarillo Community Federal Credit Union.
