Darrell Ray Kent, 50, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, October 28, 2019. Darrell was born September 17, 1969 in Irving, Texas to Lee Roy and Melba Lois Kent. He was a graduate of Dumas High School where he was involved in the 4H program. He was given the title of honorary mayor by his friends. Over the course of his life Darrell worked as a dog groomer, worked at 575 Pizzeria, Boys Ranch, Eye Mart Express, and in hospitality services. Darrell enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers. He enjoyed going to happy hour and brunches. In his spare time he volunteered at hospice. Darrell's quotes were known to be “Good Gravy” and “Darrell- double “rr” double “ll”. Darrell is survived by his mom Melba Lois Kent; brother Terry Kent and wife Elizabeth; sister-in-law, Twila Brown; nephews, Mathew Kent and wife Laura, Edward Holguin and wife Alyssa, James Brown and wife Arin, and Patrick Kent; nieces, Melissa Kent, Candace Kent, Paige Kent, and Niki Kent; and his 4-legged children, Lucky and Bear. He is preceded in death by his father, Lee Roy Kent; brother, Gary Kent; grandparents, Arvil and Jeffie Johnson, and Gharney and Opal Kent. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to BSA Hospice of the Southwest. The family would like to say a special Thank You to Denise and everyone who donated to the Go Fund Me.
