David Barrington

David Barrington, 64, of Amarillo, died Sunday, March 15, 2020. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive with Pastor Doug Gehm of Grace Church officiating. Memorial services will continue as planned, but the family visitation for Friday evening has been canceled. David was born June 17, 1955 in Amarillo to Robert and Geraldine Barrington. He graduated from Tascosa High School in 1971, then attended Amarillo College. He married Sandra Gonce on December 18, 1981 in Amarillo. David worked for Page & Associates for a number of years, prior to going to work for Western Builders, where he has been for the last 19 years. He was an officer and board member in the Carpenter’s Union for many years. He also taught in the Union carpentry school. David enjoyed working with his hands. He and Sandra loved to travel to places including Playa and Cozumel, among others. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Barrington; a son, Jeremy David Barrington of Amarillo; a daughter, Valerie Beth Harland and husband Jamie of Amarillo; two sisters, Dianne McClish and husband Dennis of Amarillo, Becky O’Connor and husband Terry of Borden, IN; a brother, Larry Barrington of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Paisley Barrington, London Barrington, Jakin Barrington, Keenah Barrington, Azalea Harland, Sarah Harland, and Brett Harland; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
