David E. Black, 65, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Burial will be at Llano East Cemetery. Viewing will be between 1:00 – 8:00 PM on Friday.
David was born August 15, 1958 in Odessa, Texas to Warren and Peggy Black. He attended high school in Dumas, before moving to Amarillo and graduating from Tascosa High School. He earned his associate degree from Amarillo College. He married his wife Debbie on December 1, 2005 in Las Vegas. David went to work at Crouse Hinds in 1980, and retired in July of this year after 43 years of service. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed taking trips with Debbie to scenic places in the U.S. He very much enjoyed the outdoors and seeing beautiful places. Dave enjoyed spending time with his family where laughter always filled the air. He was a sports fan, especially football. Dave mastered the art of playing ping pong with his brother while attending night school at AC. He was very smart and could do anything with his hands. He was an extremely kind person who loved to laugh. Dave was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Jeremy Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Black; his identical twin daughters, Kaleen Reyna and Cassiey Ripley and husband Brandon; his bonus son, Eric Bural and wife Terra; his bonus daughter, Chelsea Smith; his brother, Chuck Black and wife Cindy; three sisters, Deborah Black, Candy Wilbanks and husband Grady, and Megan Hancock and husband Alex; his step-father, Jim McAmis; his grandkids, Tyler, Kaden, Karter, Ethan and Elise; his bonus grandkids, Kayson, Nova, Justin and Caleb; and one great-granddaughter, Parker.
