David Cantor

December 29, 1959 — April 7, 2019

David Cantor, 59, of Timbercreek Canyon, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 at home surrounded by his family and friends.  A Celebration of David’s Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at Cox Funeral Home; 4180 Canyon Drive. Memorial services will also be held at a later date in Eastbrook, Maine. David was born December 29, 1959 in Dover, Delaware to “Bob” and Helen (Wilbur) Cantor. He loved his home state of Maine, where he married his beloved wife Bonnie Howard on June 5, 2013. David enjoyed volunteering for many organizations including; The High Plains Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Timbercreek Garden Club and putting out flags for our veterans at The Amarillo V.A. and Ussery Roan Texas State Veterans Home. He was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Timbercreek Volunteer Fire Department as well. David loved the people he worked with as a supervisor in the call center for Valero Energy. When he wasn’t spending time with his family he was a talented musician who played a variety of instruments along with enjoying team sports. David was a very giving and selfless person, who always looked for the best in people and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be remembered as a loving husband, son, dad, brother, uncle and friend. David will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Stephen Cantor. David is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Cantor; his mother, Helen Cantor, of Franklin, Maine; sons, David R. Cantor of Amarillo, Texas and R. John Cantor of Ellsworth, Maine; a sister Marley Ottinger and husband Mike Jacques of South Carolina; brothers, Kenneth Cantor and wife Cristie of Texas and Lonnie Cantor and wife Sharon of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He also leaves behind his four-legged babies; dogs, Shameus and Princess and cats, Okie and Blackie.
