David Horace Duvall

David H. DuVall 91, of Amarillo passed away March 18, 2022.  David was born on March 17, 1931 in Lakeview, Texas to Horace and Lolo DuVall. He graduated from Lakeview High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1951. It was an honor for him to serve during the Korean War on a 516 LST. He met the love of his life, Christine Hunt, while attending West Texas State University. They were married on November 23, 1955 in Canyon at the Joseph A. Hill Chapel. They spent 66 wonderful years together. He was a member of Paramount Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. David was a Mason and member of Knight’s Templar. He was a member of Amarillo Lodge 731 and received his 50 year Masonic pin. He worked for BMA for 22 years. He enjoyed traveling. There were numerous trips with his wife, daughters, and close friends. One of his dreams was to be able to take his whole family on trips. This was accomplished with many wonderful memories. David loved to share stories and memories. David was a one-of-a-kind special husband, Daddy, Poppy, and friend. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Lolo DuVall, brother in-laws, Dr. Don Bulloch and Cloyce Troxell, and niece Cindy Embery.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Christine DuVall; daughters Kristy Martin and Dawn Herrera, husband Danny; sister, Bennie Earl Bulloch, sister-in-law Gloria Troxell. Grandchildren Brandt Martin and wife Layton; Chelsea Herrington and husband Heath; Logan and Danielle Herrera and great- grandchildren Brynn and Brecken Martin, William and Claire Herrington, along with nieces, nephews and close friends.

Graveside service will be held Monday, March 28, 2022 at 2 pm, Memory Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Lance Herrington officiating. Services are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Paramount Baptist Church scholarship fund.
