David was born on December 18, 1943, in Childersburg, Alabama to David and Alene Calvert. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in February of 1965. After his retirement, you would find the self-appointed “Mayor of the neighborhood” working in his yard and helping his neighbors and friends. Most of all, he cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
