David was born on October 17, 1960 in Delhi, Louisiana. He moved to Amarillo as a child, where he graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1979. He married Bonnie Smith on December 12, 1999 in Amarillo. David proudly worked as a police officer here in Amarillo for over 14 years until 2000. He then worked for Haliburton, where he was currently employed and had worked for 7 years. He was an avid hunter and an avid Oklahoma University fan. His family and friends would say he was very funny and always had a joke or witty remark for any situation. Most of all, David loved his family and loved time spent with them.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie LaVigne of Bushland; 2 daughters, Heather Wheeler and husband Jason and Autumn Galvin, all of Amarillo; 3 sons, Keagan Sotelo, Seth LaVigne and Gage LaVigne, all of Bushland; 3 grandchildren, Josh Gabriel, Reagan LaVigne and Jack Galvin, all of Amarillo; 3 brothers, Scott Cook of Dumas, Stacy Cook and wife Suzanne of Amarillo and Shelby Cook of Sunray and 3 sisters, Barbara Webb and husband Dean of Albuquerque, NM, Rita Davis and husband Dwin of Springfield, MO and Estelle Canfield and husband John of Wilson, OK.
He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil "PeeWee" Cook
