David was born on November 16, 1981 in Thousand Oaks, CA to Phillip and Nancy Lewis. He was raised in Moorpark, CA, where he graduated from high school in 2001. He eagerly enlisted in the United States Marine Corp following high school in 2001. He proudly served two tours in Iraq before his honorable discharge in 2010.
Upon his release from the Marine Corp, David settled in Amarillo. Here he found his second family, VFW Post 1475, where he served as senior vice commander. He enjoyed volunteering his time to care for the needs of others and their families and often served as an Honor Guard for many services. He was currently employed with C&E Mechanical, where he has worked for over a year. David was known to the type of person who always gave 100% to anything he did, from his athletics throughout school to his military career, he was known to always strive to be the best. He lived life to the fullest and loved the brotherhood of being part of a team. In his free time, David enjoyed the outdoors, fishing hunting and camping with friends and family.
He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Nancy Lewis of Moorpark, CA; brother, Michael Lee Lewis and wife Kimberly of Simi Valley, CA; nephew, Austin Micheal Lewis of Simi Valley, CA; 3 uncles, Rod Lewis of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, David Lewis and wife Judy of Redding, CA and Robert Lewis of Gilbert, Arizona and cousins, Rod Lewis of Roseville, CA and Greg Lewis of Houston.
