David Brown, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at First Baptist Church Chapel, 1208 S. Tyler St. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.
David was born June 9, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to Wayne and Mary Brown. He graduated from Tascosa High School and went on to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he became a Radiology Tech. He worked for Fleetwood Chiropractic for 24 years. Afterwards, he did restaurant work for several years.
David was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. He was diagnosed with ALS 17 years ago, but that diagnosis never dictated the full life he lived. He was a friend to many and had a very positive outlook on life. David had a keen sense of humor and considered himself a comedian. He loved music and was proud of his eclectic musical taste. He loved animals, and very much enjoyed feeding the birds and cats in the neighborhood. David enjoyed his scotch and cigars. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
David was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Mike Brown and Perry Brown.
Survivors include two nieces, Kristi Brown-Griffin (David) and Jennifer Brown-Dizmang (Wayne); two nephews, Dominic Goetz and Connor McLean; a sister-in-law, Mary McIntyre Brown; his brother from another mother, Vipin Marani; and many cousins, Larry Brown (Diane), Chuck Brown, Roger Brown (Sandy), Debbie Brown, Steve Brown (Gail), Susan Brown Holland (John), Lynn Hatfield (Jim), Mark Brown (Leslie), and Candy McPherren.
