David James Velasquez

David was born on March 4, 1976 in Huntingdon, England to David Velasquez, Sr. and Elizabeth Halbert. He moved to Amarillo with his family in 1984, where he attended schools. He enjoyed doing outdoors activities. He especially enjoyed fishing trips and going to Palo Duro Canyon. Most of all, David loved his family and friends. He enjoyed the barbeques and gatherings he had with them. They will always remember how he enthusiastically celebrated Halloween and how he loved to rock out to his music and all of the fun times they shared with him. The family would like to express a special thank you to Carrie Lopez and Michael Paxton for always making them smile through this difficult time and for being with David until the end. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents, David Velasquez, Sr and Elizabeth Halbert of Amarillo; 2 brothers, Richard Velasquez and fiancé Misty Royal of Amarillo and Stephen Velasquez and wife Maygan of Amarillo; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Halbert, Sr. of England; paternal grandparents, Josefina G. Keller of Sierra Vista, AZ and Leo P. Velasquez of Amarillo; aunts and uncles, Philip Velasquez, Rosita Harwell, Sylvia Keith, Ricky Velasquez, Robert Halbert of U.K and Joyce Daniels of Wales, UK and many nieces and nephews who will miss him greatly.
