David Woodall

David Woodall, 68, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021. A memorial service will be held 6:00 PM Thursday, August 12th, at Amarillo Masonic Lodge #731 at 1512 SW 10th.

David was born in Tampa Florida on December 28, 1952, to Clifton, and Arletha Woodall. David’s father was in the Air Force, so David traveled in his early youth, which included living in Italy, where his younger brother Joel was born. After returning to the U.S., David’s family settled in Texas.

David was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.

David worked in the social services field for over 30 years and retired from the Social Security Administration.

David was a Master Mason and worked at Amarillo Lodge #731. David was a serious supporter of First Nation causes, art, and music.

David enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, birdwatching, and wildlife observation with his family.

David was devoted to his family. He was always dependable, and always present for them.

David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita, his two children, Nathan and Clare, his grandson, Nathan, his mother, Arletha, his brother, Joel, sister-in-law, Janis, and nephews Nicholas and Nathan.

David was preceded in death by his father, Clifton.
