Delores Fay Vandenbrook

May 17, 1935 — August 12, 2016

Delores was born on May 17, 1935 in Hall County to J.W. and Adalar Revell. She was raised in Lakeview where she attended Lakeview schools. She married Eddie Richardson and the two of them owned and operated Elmo's Drive-in for many years. Delores later married Leonard Vandenbrook and they owned and managed many rental properties throughout Amarillo. Leonard preceded her in death in August 2005. Delores enjoyed getting together with her friends, playing "42" and cards. She loved to take trips to the casinos with her friends as often as possible. She enjoyed working with her employees on her rental properties and became close friends with many of them. Most of all, Delores was a devoted mother and grandmother, even to extended family and friends. She is survived by her son Steve Roberson and wife Carol of Amarillo; step-son, Marty Vandenbrook and wife Mary and their daughters, Jennifer and Peggy of Houston; 2 sisters, Oneta Hawkins of Houston and Dorothy Akins of Borger; granddaughters, Michelle Castillo and husband Tony of Amarillo, Tiffany Packer of Austin and Robin Buchanan of Amarillo; great grandchildren, Cayden Packer, Mackenzie Packer, Kolton Castillo, Brody Castillo and Marissa and Christopher Buchanan; great-great granddaughter, Serenity as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends who loved her very much.
