Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery
Graveside Services, Wed., Jan. 7, 2015 with Rev. Ronnie Mullins officiating.
The world lost a wonderful, shining star with the passing of our beloved brother. Dennis was a wonderful, witty, and extremely intelligent person who loved his family, his dogs, the Houston Astros and the Dallas Cowboys. To know Dennis was to love him, he was a joy to be around always! He loved to go to auctions and junk sales looking for antiques, old records and comic books. He was an avid sports fan, in the 70's, he got with his brothers and friends and formed a baseball team called the Northside No Names, the team may have never won a game, but the many fond memories of being together will last forever. He worked as a steel erector from the age of 17, and many of the buildings around Amarillo have his handprint on their framework.
Survivors include 6 Brothers, Orville, Roy, Kenny, Danny and Mark Larkan all of Amarillo, and Eddie Larkan of Del Rio, Tx., and 2 sisters, Brenda Wesser and husband Tom and Linda Land both of Amarillo. Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends.
Dennis was preceded in death by his Parents, Orville (Shorty) and Margaret Berneice Johnson Larkan, his brother, Donnie Larkan, sister in law, Faith Larkan, niece, Sarah Davis, brother in law, Steve Land, and his dear nephew, Kenny Larkan who passed just two weeks ago.
Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 6 from 6-8 pm at Cox Funeral Home.
