Dessie was born in Lubbock. She graduated from Dunbar High School. She moved to Amarillo in 1994. She worked for Sitel, Advo, and most recently AIG. Dessie was introduced to Jesus at an early age. She had a firm belief in God. This belief guided her through life, helping her to obtain great achievements. Her two children were a driving factor in her success, and she always wanted to make sure they were well provided for. Dessie's life affected so many who crossed her path in a positive way. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, commitment, and loyalty.
Survivors include one daughter, Jasmine Patterson of Amarillo; one son, Javon Cravin of Amarillo; 9 sisters, Idella Jackson and husband Michael, Debra Wiseman, Debbie Smith and husband Michael, all of Amarillo, Nellie Thomas, Rita Judie, Shawonekia Thomas, Gloria Judie, all of Lubbock, Lola Lethdrige of Sanger, and Lois Price and husband Theophilus of Houston; two brothers, Kenneth Thomas of Lubbock, and Kenneth Simpson of Elgin; three grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, David Earl Judie, and Willie Judie, Jr.
