Dewey graciously willed his body to Texas Tech University School of Medicine. No memorial services are planned. Preparations were completed by Cox Funeral Home.
Dewey was born March 2, 1932 in Memphis, Texas to Robert D. and Ruby Burnice Wade Graham. He
married Shirley Louise Moyer on February 20, 1952 in Childress, Texas. They had been married for 60
years prior to her death in 2012. After marrying, they lived in Amarillo for many years where Dewey
owned and operated Graham Trim Shop and Artistic Fabrics and Upholstery. Dewey loved the mountains and they retired to the Red River/Angel Fire/Eagle Nest area in 1983 before returning to Amarillo in 1996.
Dewey made a career of automobile and furniture upholstery. He was known for sponsoring and
upholstering many cars that raced at the local Amarillo race tracks. He loved playing practical jokes and family and friends were often his unknowing victims. He also enjoyed painting both on canvas and lifelike wood figures that decorated his yard at various holidays. Dewey was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; two sisters, Christine and Inez; and four brothers, Wade, Reed, Dale and Bobby.
Survivors include two sons Gary Graham and wife, Sherri of Amarillo; Danny Graham and wife, Wyvonne of Trinidad, Colorado; a daughter Penny Kobel and husband, Paul of Knoxville, Tennessee; two brothers Don and wife, Pat; and Charles and wife, Sonja, all of Lubbock; 6 granddaughters, Heidi and fiancé Brian, Jill and husband Michael, Marsha and husband Mike, Kat and husband Clint, Sasha and husband Gene and Erica and husband John; and 10 great-grandchildren, Caroline, Victoria, Graham, Roland, Lizzie, Phillip, Zachary, Nyah, Myleigh and David.
