Diana Carmen Lancaster, 83, of Amarillo, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on March 25, 2022, after a long struggle with COPD. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Hillside Christian Church Chapel, 6100 Soncy with Chaplain Kory Mereness officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Wednesday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Diana was born August 28, 1938 in Knox City, Texas, the only child of Wayland and Aurlyne Baugh of Rule, Texas. Diana attended Rule High School, where “Bo” was a four-year letterman in Basketball. Throughout her life, “Bo” had little patience for players who couldn’t hit their free throws. When she wasn’t shooting hoops, she marched in the Rule Band as a majorette and twirler. She was forever, an avid sports fan and attended all of her childrens’ sporting events. Diana graduated from Rule High School in 1956, and on June 9, 1956, she married her childhood sweetheart, Raymond Lancaster of O’Brien, Texas.
Diana and Ray were blessed with three children, Craig, Brad and Rachel. The family moved to Amarillo in 1963 and Diana pursued a career with Affiliated Foods as a Non-Foods Buyer, retiring in 1991 to enjoy her bridge clubs, golfing, morning “table of knowledge” with her coffee group and country club living. Diana enjoyed traveling, especially if shopping was involved. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was elected Chapter Sweetheart in 1971. Diana was also honored to be the First Lady of the Khiva Shrine in 2005. Raymond and Diana have been longtime members of Hillside Christian Church.
Diana was predeceased by her father and her mother.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Raymond Lancaster. Also cherishing their memories of Diana are: son, Craig Lancaster of Amarillo, son, Brad Lancaster and wife Kerry of Canyon, daughter, Rachel Frazer and husband Tyler of Amarillo.
