Dianne Doty, 80, of Amarillo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 14, 2024. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Dianne’s grandson, Pastor Matthew Miller, will officiate. Inurnment will be at Llano East Cemetery.
Dianne was born November 19, 1943 in to Chet and Leona Williams. She graduated from high school in Capron, Oklahoma. She married her husband, Gary Doty, on August 18, 1963. Together, they raised two daughters, Denise and Pam. Dianne dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, Naana and friend to many. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Gruver, where she was very active. Later, while living in Amarillo, Dianne and Gary were members of Family Life Fellowship, later Family Life Church, where Dianne served in many ministries. She was involved with Child Evangelism Fellowship, where she taught and served in camps during the years her daughters were growing up. Later in life, Dianne attended Journey Church.
Dianne was a member of TOPS, where she developed many valued friendships over the years. Dianne and Gary started a small group at Family Life Church that they led for many years, and it is still going today. Dianne was thrilled when she was able to go on a mission trip to Kenya with her granddaughter, Emily. It was such an enriching experience for her that she always dreamed of being able to go again. Dianne was a true prayer warrior and spent much time in the Bible and in prayer. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Gary Doty.
Survivors include her two daughters, Denise Miller and husband Scott of Edmond, OK, and Pam Whelchel and husband Jeff of Amarillo; a brother, Curtis Williams and wife Judi of Derby, KS; five grandchildren, Matthew Miller and wife Tooktik, Jonathan Miller and wife Kelli, Emily Bell and husband Lance, Amy Edwards and husband Brian, and Luke Whelchel and wife Rachel; four great grandchildren, Abby Miller, Avia Bell, Malachi Bell, and Bri; and several nieces and nephews.
