Dolores Davis, 91 of Memphis, TX went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday September 26, 2024. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday October 1, 2024 at First Baptist Church, 121 S 8th Memphis, TX with Pastor Daniel Dowdy and Pastor Bob Miller officiating. The family will be accepting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Monday September 30, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Dolores was born December 3, 1932 in Kilgore, TX to Julius Clayton and Blanche Rhoades. She was a loving wife of 41 years. Dolores dedicated her life to being a wonderful mom, homemaker and grandmother. She was an upstanding citizen of Memphis for over 55 years where she was a member of the Red Hatters Club, Atalantean Club, a Quilt Club, a Bridge Club and a proud member of First Baptist Church of Memphis, TX and Crossroads Country Church of Amarillo, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Davis; her mother and father; her two sisters, Shirley Sweeney and Carol Sealey.
She is survived by her daughters, Susanne and husband Doyle Reece; Cynthia and husband James Chlebowski; her step-daughter, Pam and husband Kenneth Wilson; her grandchildren, David & Jackie Richards, Eric Evans, Ty Reece, Jamie and Sean Leff, Clayton Evans, Elizabeth and Quincy Hicks; her 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter all of Amarillo TX.
Dolores was the matriarch of a very large family and will be missed dearly.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
