Donald E. Bartlett

Donald was born on December 5, 1947 in Searcy, AR to Ralphus and Betty Bartlett. He enlisted in the United States Army on March 1, 1976 in Little Rock, AR. Don devoted his life to serving his country. He served faithfully for over 22 years, earning many medals, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 3 Bronze Stars, a Good Conduct Medal, along with many others. He married Zorah Bishop on August 23, 1996 in Hot Springs, AR. He worked for the City of Amarillo for 10 years, starting as a building inspector and working his way up as a Commercial Plans Examiner. He was a lifetime member of the Amarillo VFW. SURVIVORS: Wife, Zorah Bartlett of Amarillo; daughter, Mary hirley and husband Herman of Amarillo; son, Curtis "Buddy" Thornton of Phoeniz; twin brother, Ronald Bartlett; 2 sisters and 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: parents and son, Marvin Dal Thornton .
