Donald R. Cook

Donnie was born on December 27, 1938 in Amarillo to Phillip and Edna Cook. He served in the United States Army from 1961-1963, where he was stationed at Ft. Carson, CO, Ft. Louis, Washington and Korea. He was honorably discharged in 1963. Donnie married Ann Timmons on August 21, 1964 in Amarillo. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2014. He worked as a mechanic throughout his life and enjoyed working on tractors in his spare time. His family knew him to be hard-working and a gentle and loving grandfather. Donnie and Ann had been members of Temple Baptist Church for over 15 years, where he also served as a deacon. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Cook and wife Ann Cook. He is survived by his son, Jason Cook and wife Traci of Amarillo; 3 daughters, Kim George of Amarillo, Pam Jenkins of Amarillo and Shawna Sharp and spouse, Tait Dalton of Santa Fe, NM; honorary son, Parker Sharp of Amarillo; 2 sisters, his twin, Glenda Fay Shelley of Amarillo and Phyllis Ivon Beckham of Pampa; 9 grandchildren, Lacee and husband Dustin, Trey and wife Karli, Candace and husband Curtis, Brennon and wife Laura Paige, Madison, Spencer, Keaton and wife Lindsy, Nicholas and Justin and 4 great grandchildren, Branch, Eleanor, Loraliah and Delilah. The family wishes to express a special thank you to the Hernandez Family for their friendship and support and also to Lisa Edwards and Glenda Shelley for their loving care and support of Donald.
