Donald "Cody" Lewis, 57, died Friday, April 11, 2014.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with Charlie Cox officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Cody was born Oct. 19, 1956, in Amarillo to Beasley and Effie Lewis. He was a very proud citizen of the Choctaw Nation and served as public relations and logistics coordinator for Texas Intertribal Indian Organization. He was a talented bead worker, making breastplates for tribal ceremonies and rites.
He was an avid gardener and enjoyed cooking. He also enjoyed playing Jeopardy with his friends at Fargo's.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Lewis.
Survivors include his father, Beasley Lewis; his sisters, Brenda and Kimberly Taylor and Marie Farbro; two brothers, Kenneth Lewis and wife Deborah and Michael Lewis and Lisa Harris, all of Amarillo; eight nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces, great-nephews,
great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
