Dr. Donald G. Pratt

Dr. Donald G. Pratt, 75, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday, December 11, 2021. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Darrouzett Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Tuesday at Cox- Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Dr. Pratt was born October 19, 1946 in Higgins, Texas to George and Esta Pratt. He graduated from Darrouzett High School, and went on to earn his bachelor degree in biomedical science from West Texas State University. He earned his doctorate degree from the University of Texas Medical School in Galveston. He went on to study radiation therapy at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. He worked in private practice in Temple, El Paso and Amarillo. Dr. Pratt served as medical director of Radiation Oncology at Harrington Cancer Center from 1994-2003. He was the president of medical staff there from 1994-1999. He was a member of the American Board of Family Practice from 1979-1994, and a member of the American Board of Radiology, Radiation Oncology in 1989. He was awarded one of the Best Doctors in America from 1996-1999. In his spare time, Dr. Pratt enjoyed traveling, photography, exercise, and painting.

Survivors include his sister, Carol Imke of Darrouzett; two brothers, Ronald Pratt of Brimerton, WA, and Lewis Pratt and wife Pam of Amarillo; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations may be made to the Don Harrington Cancer Center; or the First Baptist Church of Darrouzett, Texas.
