Donna Jean (Morain) Cherry

Donna Jean Cherry, 71, passed away December 21, 2021. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Higginbotham officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Donna was born on January 22, 1950 in Enid, Oklahoma to Donald and Waunita Morain.  She had attended Caprock High School. Donna married Ernest Cherry on December 19, 1970 in Amarillo, TX at Victory Baptist Church. She was a very considerate and sweet lady, who had a forgiving heart. Donna was a great listener. She had a unique way of her prayers, she was able to draw you in with her words. Donna loved her family fiercely. She had taken care of her ailing mother for the past ten years, they had a very special relationship. Donna will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Donna was preceded in death by her father, Donald Morain.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest “Sonny” Cherry of the home; two sons, Nathan Cherry and wife Amie of Amarillo; John Cherry and wife Diangela of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Colby Cherry, Carter Cherry, Madeline Cherry, Sophia Cherry all of Amarillo; her mother, Waunita Morain of Amarillo; two sisters Rita Conway of Mid West City, OK; Barabara Plummer of Memphis, TX; one brother, Ronnie Morain and wife Audrey of Brazoria, TX.
